a whale of a day!

3 of the 5 beluga whales

on saturday chris and i and our 2 friends from charlotte ventured west to visit the georgia aquarium. despite the cost, which i ranted about a while back, we were able to attend (thanks to the generous donation of my brother and his family) and found it to be TOTALLY worth the fee! the whole thing was way cool and we all (if i can speak for the bunch) were impressed by the artistry of the exhibit designs.

here are a few choice pictures. chris will be posting some video in the near future.

Looks cool and better than Baltimore's fish tank.

Road trip may be required in the near future.

How were the crowds?

dogwood, there was a big crowd. by 5:00 or so it had thinned out. but for sure there was the ubiquitous gaggle of kids pushing to get in front of you at every exhibit. the good thing, though, was that the whole aquarium was very kid-friendly, with lots of low-level peep holes and other things to distract the kids away from the big kids' looking spots.

and yes, mom, we took those pictures.
